Answers to Questions from 10/6

1. When you did the Intention Exercise this week what did taking a random photo of what was behind you, make you think about?

It made me think how things behind me can be so random or similar. I had instances where what was behind me was very similar to what was in front of me, but in other instances what was front of me was wildly different from what was behind me. So I guess it made me think about perspective a lot. Perspective can change a lot about a picture.

2. What do you think the author is referring to when he says, “Alfred Hitchcock said that he never considered content when making a film.” Did this exercise help you to have an ‘open’ attitude to taking a picture?

The whole article was talking about intention and then how many others work on the idea of just working with little intent and just do things on the spot, or on the fly, or to just improvise. So when Alfred Hitchcock was mentioned to not consider content, the idea is the same here. He didn't have an actual intention when he created his films, they sort of just came together. This idea was prominent in most of the article. I have always had an open mind or attitude on anything, so I guess this didn't really change much for me. Heh.
